We have been putting our knowledge of fractions, decimals and percentages to the test by designing seating plans for World Cup stadiums. After putting our colourful designs together yesterday, we have spent our numeracy lesson showing the number of coloured seats shown as equivalent fractions, decimals and percentages. Some of us have been reducing the fractions down to their lowest form too! As part of our World Cup topic this term, we have been studying how life in Brazil compares to our own lives in Tanfield Lea.
As part of this, we have discovered that many Brazilians live in favelas. In our Art & Design lessons we have created our own representations of the Brazilian favelas which have been painted as part of the 'Favela Painting' project. As you can see our designs are just as striking as the real thing. (click here for more information on Favela Painting http://www.favelapainting.com/bio) |
