As Wednesday's Mathletics efforts come to an end, we will have completed 3 out of 7 of the week's challenge days.
I am shocked and thrilled to announce that we currently have 4 children with over 10,000 points (that's around 1,000 correct answers each!!)
To put that into perspective, 4 of you have earned more points than Mrs Davis' entire class so far!
There are also lots and lots of you, adding your own scores, making our team effort a superb one!
Can you keep it up? I'm really looking forward to seeing our final scores and who the overall champion will be! I will have to get a few extra prizes as I am extremely impressed!
Absolutely fantastic, and record breaking, efforts from many of us this week on Mathletics! Aron 9th in the UK (47th in the world) and Drew smashed the class record book finishing 1st in the UK and 10th in the World.
There have been some brilliant efforts keeping us in the chase for the best class in school this week. Keep it up Year 5.
This week you have two Mathletics challenges. 1. To get the best score you can this week and try to get the top score in Year 5. 2. To help make our class the best class in Tanfield Primary, the U.K. or even the world!
The challenge Starts at 8pm on Sunday Night (4th of May) and runs until 8pm Sunday Night on the 11th of May.
There will be prizes for the best class, and the highest score in Year 5.
There will be bonus prizes if you beat any of our class records. Highest Weekly Score: 14,793 points Highest Daily Score (8pm-8pm): 9,580 Highest UK place (daily): 2nd Highest World place (daily): 15th
Remember the best way to score points is on the activities (10 points per correct answer)
Good luck everyone

Welcome to Year 5's blog at Tanfield Lea Community Primary School, a primary school in County Durham who want to broaden our horizons and to show the world what we have to offer.
Our September topic will be 'The Normans', looking at the history of the Norman periods and what we can learn about that time period using primary and secondary sources.
Our literacy will be based on the book 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian which takes place during the Second World War.
