Use this fantastic song, performed by Year 5, to help you remember what mean, mode, median and range are.
Thankyou to Mrs Ovington for the suggestion.

Superb singing in Year 5 - I liked how your heads went high and low for the range!
Who was playing guitar?
I hope your mean score goes up on Friday in your Beat That test!

That's a shame Tamzin! It sounds like your internet is a little awkward. Thank you for sharing at home.

I think the X Factor could do with this kind of quality!! (Only joking of course!) As Mrs Scholey has said, the song will stick in your head and this will really help you to remember the difference between the three mathematical terms.

The reason the children weren't smiling was because they were concentrating so much on getting the words right in the song!
I remember Miss Ruskin singing the very same song a few years ago now though and as soon as Mr Patterson said he was doing mode, median, mean and range I knew year 5 would be up for the challenge of learning it!

Welcome to Year 5's blog at Tanfield Lea Community Primary School, a primary school in County Durham who want to broaden our horizons and to show the world what we have to offer.
Our September topic will be 'The Normans', looking at the history of the Norman periods and what we can learn about that time period using primary and secondary sources.
Our literacy will be based on the book 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian which takes place during the Second World War.
