What a fantastic start to the new term in Year 5. We have appeared in both the UK and World top 50 charts for Mathletics!
Great job!

Absolutely FANTASTIC Drew! I need to think of something fitting to acknowledge your achievement as that's excellent!
I will take a screen grab in the morning and put it on the blog so everyone can see it. Your efforts today will have really helped our class score but, most importantly, you will have also hopefully learnt some new maths skills as well!
Maybe take a few days off as you have the certificate for this week!
I wonder if you will get the number one spot at any point this year?

Welcome to Year 5's blog at Tanfield Lea Community Primary School, a primary school in County Durham who want to broaden our horizons and to show the world what we have to offer.
Our September topic will be 'The Normans', looking at the history of the Norman periods and what we can learn about that time period using primary and secondary sources.
Our literacy will be based on the book 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian which takes place during the Second World War.
