Can you use openers, punctuation and connectives to create a sentence as excellent as the one Anais used in science this week? Remember capital letters and full stops are still needed online.
"In addition to this, your plant will need sunlight to make the food therefore sunlight is very important." Anais Little.
I love that sentence it really reminds me about how to help a plant grow and I LOVE the word therefore

Mr Patterson I would like to try an up leveled sentence:
An important thing, you must make sure your plant doesnt get any direct sunlight, therefore your plant wont get to hot and become unable to make food.

Well done Rachel! Pleased to see you're starting the day by getting your brain warmed up for the days activities. It always good to see up levelled sentences in subjects other than literacy.
Have a great day :-)

It's great to see positive feedback! It would be even better if you could explain what you liked about Anais sentence. What do you think she has done well?
Even better, would be to have a go of your own. I'm sure if your had a look through your own books, you will find plenty of examples from your own work!

Welcome to Year 5's blog at Tanfield Lea Community Primary School, a primary school in County Durham who want to broaden our horizons and to show the world what we have to offer.
Our September topic will be 'The Normans', looking at the history of the Norman periods and what we can learn about that time period using primary and secondary sources.
Our literacy will be based on the book 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian which takes place during the Second World War.
